1. Purpose

Ensure defects are found early and releases meet functional, performance, and security acceptance criteria.

2. Scope

All software and infrastructure releases.

3. Definitions

  • Unit test — Automated test of a single unit of code.
  • Integration test — Test verifying interaction between components.
  • UAT — User Acceptance Testing performed by business users.
  • Regression test — Re-run of prior tests to confirm no regressions.

5. Procedure

  1. Write unit tests per class/component; target ≥ 80% coverage on business logic.
  2. Author integration tests for critical paths.
  3. Schedule UAT for user-facing changes with representative business users.
  4. Run regression suite on every candidate release.
  5. Publish a test report with pass/fail counts, coverage, and outstanding defects.
