1. Purpose

Provide evidence that UBC products and components satisfy intended use in the intended environment.

2. Scope

All production releases across SDLC and AI-DLC.

3. Definitions

  • Validation — Confirmation that requirements for a specific intended use or application have been fulfilled.
  • Operational environment — The environment in which the product will be used by real users.

5. Procedure

  1. Author a validation plan describing intended use, environment, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  2. Prepare a validation environment that mirrors production.
  3. Execute validation with real users or realistic proxies.
  4. Record defects and re-test after remediation.
  5. Issue a signed validation report before production release.
