1. Purpose

Ensure the integrity of UBC work products through disciplined configuration management practices.

2. Scope

Source code, infrastructure-as-code, models, prompts, datasets, and controlled documents.

3. Definitions

  • Configuration item (CI) — A work product placed under configuration control.
  • Baseline — A formally approved version of a CI or set of CIs.

5. Procedure

  1. Register each CI in the CMDB with owner, baseline, and location.
  2. Store CIs in version-controlled repositories with signed commits.
  3. Promote CIs between environments only via approved pipelines.
  4. Publish a baseline manifest at every production release.
  5. Perform functional and physical configuration audits semi-annually.
